Cri2 Research Project For Rigging.

Cri2 Research Project For Rigging.

The research project for CRI2 is to look around online for a company that is hiring for a character setup artist, and also to make sure that it is for a rigger. Once I have found a job listing, I need to compare the job qualifications for it and what I have learned in Cri2.

I found a job at Bron Studios for a Character Rigger. The full Job posting can be found at this link http://bronstudios.com/character-rigging-td/

The job at Bron Studios is looking for someone who's main role will be to focus on the aspects of rigging, including careful skin weighting and joint placement. Some of the responsibilities for this job are to work

under the main riggier and to work closely with animation people.

Over the past month of Cri2 I have learned how to do weight painting on the skin, make deformer for the characters, and to make corrective blend shapes. These are the abilities the studio is looking for that will help me land the job for setup artist.

Here is a second one that I found at Sucker Punch for a Tech Artist. The full Job posting can be found at this link http://jobs.suckerpunch.com/index.phpm=portal&a=details&jobOrderID=5225425&portalID=33358

At Sucker Punch they are looking for someone who is highly skilled at rigging and knows how to rig efficiently. Those areas are not my strong point. I know how to rig, but I am not that highly skill at it yet. Also I am still leaning how to be more efficient at rigging. With my current skill set and knowledge, I am most likely to get a job at Bron and not at Sucker Punch. But in time, if I can improve my rigging skills, I could potentially get a job at Sucker Punch as well.
